Questions & Answers (Q&A)

Do the my receive a signal inside the fully enclosed water tight landscape fixtures?

Asked by: Feldme
It’s nice that you can change the color of the lights but the color of the bulb is not as bright and it doesn’t respond that well or reset the zone for it.  Hope that helps.

I have a bunch of RGB volt microdots with their remote. Will that remote work for this bulb also? Thanks!

Asked by: Apoe
I would say yes…

Can i only program the zone or can each bulb be controlled seperately? For example, I have 8 bulbs but only 6 zone are available so I cant do 8 different colors?

Asked by: David
Each bulb can be programmed independently, then added to a zone. I found it difficult and confusing to reset to change colors and zones. I gave up trying.

Is it possible to select a given color, say red, but with some white light mixed in for better illumination?

Asked by: Theo
Shirt answer, no. But you can still get the desired effect if you placed another light right next to it to "mix" the colors.

If I buy two remotes, one for the front yard and one for the back yard, will each remote sync with the bulbs so that only the front yard remote will operate the front bulbs and the back yard remote will only operate the back yard bulbs?

Asked by: sp
Yes, you can program your front yard bulbs to be on one remote and your backyard bulbs to be on another, or you can simply use one remote and set up your front and back yard to be on different zones. Please contact our customer support team if you'd like assistance in setting up your zones.

Will these bulbs and remote function if using your 12V DC transformer (VTR-100-ARA1)?

Asked by: Jeff
I bought the volt transformer and chose the LED color bulbs for my well light walkway lights and flood lights. I have to point the remote and be within proximity to lights to change the color and program the the remote. The transformer only provides power to the bulbs and timer.

Can colors sequence or do they have to be only one color?

Asked by: DocEd
Not really understanding the question,  but you can change every bulb as long as you program them

Rated 3 out of 5 by from RGB lights problem 2 of the 4 lights are within 15 feet of each other. When I synchronize them they both activated. When I called customer service, the tech gave me incorrect instructions by having me pull the lightbulb, sync the one light on zone one, insert the bulb in the other fixture and synchronize on zone 2. Like I said, it didn’t work. The only other option that I can think of is to take the bulb out, insert it to another fixture far away, reset the bulb to sync mode, then synchronize on zone 2. I have loved the quality and customer service but the guy I spoke to was rushed, and he didn’t understand the issue .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color landscape bulbs Good RGBCW bulbs. Slightly pricey but they work as advertised I also bought the path light bulbs. All worked as expected. App/wifi control per bulb would be great but probably a bunch more expensive. Good color range, etc. as with all Volt products I have used, very good quality and performance. I tried to attach a pic of them all purple for Halloween but couldn’t do so

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Opportunity for improvement, but "good enough" Pros: * Nice to have color options with existing landscape lighting from Volt (Top Dog) * Broad color flexibility * Less expensive alternative (vs Infiniti lights). Cons: * Lights not as bright as expected (Infiniti RGBW lights were the basis of comparison) * Having a different remote vs the Infiniti is not preferable.. * Zone concept is interesting, but would like the ability to adjust each and every light if desired (like Infiniti). Of course you can probably accomplish this if you assign 1 zone for each light...but may need more remotes (not ideal). I recognize I could have purchased the Infinitis and had exactly what I wanted, but it was more cost effective given the Volt light fixtures we already have. Despite the perceived drawbacks, they are "good enough" for our situation and appreciate to have the option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DYI Inspiration I got a quote for landscape lighting for my home from a local contractor and was shocked at the estimated cost. I found the VOLT RGBCW LED product online and noticed that it was the exact same product that the professional was quoting me on. I purchased the kit with extra lights and did the installation myself. The material was all easy to work with, packed and online instructions easily understood, and the finished product outstanding. The 8 installed spot lights and 4 pathway lights help my Midwest 1928 home standout in the neighborhood and I literally saved myself thousands of dollars. I was a little sore for a couple days afterwards but the finished product was well worth it. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not quite right yet I like others who have reviewed cannot get the lights to unpair from the zones after they have been paired. The colors and white light are good, but this inability to pair and unpair make me not recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to Volt for DIY Landscape Lighting DIY folks can't go wrong with VOLT lighting fixtures. I just completed the installation of a VOLT low voltage system in the front of my house: transformer, path lights, spot lights, and flood lights. The quality of VOLT fixtures is outstanding but what I found most useful is their superior customer support. Their support personnel: were easy to contact via telephone; provided me expert advice on lighting options I could use for my project; and were always available to answer technical questions about the installation and setup process. I also found the downloadable installation manuals to be clearly written. My project went so well I am already planning to install another VOLT system in my backyard. I give VOLT lighting my highest recommendation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn’t Be Happier! Excited to have a color bulb replacement instead of replacing the entire fixture. I’ve had Volt for several years and have been happy with the standard warm white uplighting but changing different colors has always been on my mind. I bought the Costco path/flood light pack and was happy to see these were compatible. Setup was a breeze, bulb replacement is self-explanatory, remote works great and you can literally select any color on the color wheel by sliding your thumb around. My system turns on/off automatically with the day/night sensor and the bulbs stay on the color of their last setting. I have alternating colors for flood and path lights and they are even grouped into different zones so I can control multiple lights at once. My recommendation for changing individual bulbs is to be closer to a fixture or the remote could inadvertently change other bulbs. I’ve had these just over a month and have had zero issues! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty good Pros: they are easy to set up and pair with the remote. There are plenty of colors to choose from. Now I can change the colors for every holiday. Cons: could be a little brighter for some colors. They are a little pricey, and Volt doesn’t include these lights nor the remote in their 15% off sale. Not offered in MR-11 bulbs, which I need to complete my yard
