What is the beam spread illumination for these fixtures if mounted at 18" high on 24" high posts along an outdoor pathway?
My lights are mounted on 44" posts at a height of 36". Beam spread is 32" to each side of the light and 32" out from the light.
On my stairs leading up onto the deck, again 44" posts with the light mounted at 36" with 36" between railing, the light floods the stair treads across the 36" width.
I can not tell you what the spread will be at a lower height, however it will most likely decrease the light spread.

Can these be mounted as up lighting?
Yes - the lens housing is sealed, and it sits withing the lamp back. Make sure the weep hole on the lamp holder is down so water doesn't enter the housing

The deck lights can not be mounted horizontally.

Yes it could. I would mount it after the stucco is finished.

Hi, can these be used as uplighters on a deck? Or is there issue with water/rain collecting on the lights surface?
I would not, they are not designed for that purpose. I modified mine to screw into heavy stone walkway steps, but the lenses remain vertical and the housing as well as some additional waterproofing protects the interior connections. Love their appearance when lite.

I have the bronze deck lights and the finish has gotten a bit dull and milky looking. Is there any recommendation to restore and protect them? Oil, paste wax, special cleaners?
Brasso all the way! Requires a little elbow grease but will clean & shine your bronze right up. You can usually find it at the grocery store. Otherwise, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Mine are still looking great after one yr in the pacific NW. Hope this helps!

VOLT® Cast Brass Deck Light (Bronze) Are these typically installed using a daisy chain connection or directly to a hub?
In my experience (& in the application I use on my dock) running a 10-12 gauge main line with 14-16 gauge drops to each light ends up being a great way to do it. Depending on how far away the fixtures are from the transformer should also be considered for what voltage tap to use on the transformer & how to size the main line wire.. I wouldn’t daisy chain the fixtures if there were more than 6 due to voltage drop concerns.. I have 15 fixtures running on one main line as described with no variation in brightness among lights

Can these be recessed so that the base is set into a post, with just the shroud extending out? I’d like to illuminate behind some raised mailbox numbers that will be mounted on the post.
Yes, It’s possible with some creativity. To inner piece will need to rotate with a 1/4 turn to replace the LED light bulb.

Looks great, good luck installing or servicing it though
The design flaw of this light is that to open it, you have to unscrew a smooth rounded inner housing from an outer one. There is no place or way to grip it. Since you have to separate the two parts to install it, and I've had no luck after about an hour working on it. The light is useless for me. If it were heavier, I could at least use it as a paperweight. Maybe I just got one that was assembled too tightly or stripped, but it is hard for me to imagine that once exposed to the elements, that it would get any easier to separate the two halves for servicing. It's a good price and looks great, but I'm wondering if the folks who design these things actually use them.

Very good but not perfect.
Looks fantastic once installed on my white posts, nice soft light. Solid construction. Downsides: white shows more nicks than other (brass) fixtures I have - might have gone with a straight brass color and allowed for the contrast in retrospect. Additionally, sometimes the top was VERY difficult to remove and then put back on. Developed a system with a piece of wood across the flat light face and a ""persuader"" (rubber mallet) to get a couple difficult pieces in. Very glad I went with this downlight solution rather than in-step lights as I also considered - more steps were better illuminated.

Perfect look for white deck posts.
Great product for white fence posts. One subtle difference between this and other competitors is the diameter. I like having a border, which isn’t possible with the standard 4” models. A couple small issues are some dings in the powder coat. Which by and large is good. Also the wire lead is a little cumbersome. The 16 gauge is heavy duty but it looks like it’s cheaply connected to a small piece of 22 gauge. But all in all, I’m very happy with the product. Time will tell, but truthfully their aren’t that many white half moon fixtures on the market ( for professional contractors ).

Post lights
Everything was packaged well. I chose the Brass for the corrosion resistance. I had no problem like some of the others mentioned with the removal of the cover and installing the bulb. However I only gave it a 4 star because the cover seemed a little loose when I reinstalled it. Time will tell if this will be a problem in the future. I lightly greased the rubber packing with silicon grease before reinstalling cover.Just check your alignment of the lens before screwing it in place. I made a simple cardboard template and put a small dab of RTV on the post before I screwed the fixture in place. I’m happy with the construction and quality.

Beautiful unassuming deck lights!
We got these lights to light the stairs from the deck down to the yard. I was concerned they would not provide enough light for our dogs to see their way down them. They look SO nice on our deck posts - like they were always supposed to be there. I got the lowest voltage bulbs & they shine plenty of light down the steps. However, I can always get a higher volt bulb if we decide we need it. The lights really look sharp & provide a very unassuming classy look. We got the brass color which go perfectly with our brown wood deck but the black would have been sharp too. PS the electrician who installed them (& referred us to Volt), said they are well built lights.

50:50 Half Opened Half didn't
I installed these on the top of four vinyl fence posts. They look nice and illuminate enough to get around the dark side of the house. Two were easy to open, so easy, I'm afraid they might leak. The other two were impossible to open without tools marring the finish. I finally put them face down in a vice and could turn the backs by hand once I had the flat against the flat of the vice. Unfortunately, you can turn them past the opening and lock them on again and at the opening, they don't just come apart but eventually I got them apart. I greased the seals with silicone and hope they will open on the fence when the time comes to change a bulb. I can't put the fence face down on a vice. I made a nick on the edges so I will know where the open position is located. See photos. These look nice and are heavy but hard to recommend without easier disassembly.

Great deck lights!
My deck is only 3 years old, but was built with some terrible solar lights. It took a little bit of work, but I was able to fish the wire through the composite posts and railings. It was well worth the effort! The LED bulbs look great, and I easily wired them into the transformer (which is also getting used for new landscape lighting around the pool). I wanted to do the deck myself, because I wanted it done well, and they look as good as anything a pro could do. Easy to do, and easy to hookup….just plan it out before you start drilling holes or cutting wires.

Great company with a line of quality products
If this design works for your application buy it. You won't be disappointed. You will feel and see the quality that is present as is the case in all the volt products I have purchased. When you read some reviews from other buyers you will see references to the bulb installation being quite difficult due to the cover lens not being easily removed. This is a non issue. All one needs to do is find the sweet spot when turning the lens cover counter clockwise and it pops right off. A little finesse goes a long way. A recent purchase of 10 left me with total satisfaction with no issues along the way.
