NORML: HELPING TO CHANGE THE NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES OF MARIJUANA USE

April 5, 2021 No Comments

It’s no secret that cannabis hasn’t always had the most positive reputation. Remember when marijuana was fully illegal across the entire US?— Good thing that has changed! But even now that it is fully legalized in many states, people still have a negative perception of the legalization and use of marijuana.

When people are not properly educated on cannabis or its effects, they will commonly associate marijuana users with negative, false stereotypes like being lazy and unmotivated, uneducated and unsuccessful, or illegal drug users and criminals. They are not aware of how much the cannabis industry has evolved and expanded into being used in many positive ways, such as helping people cope with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, relieving chronic pain, and more.

Many organizations advocate for reforming marijuana laws and full legalization because of the millions of responsible cannabis users that benefit from it. As a grow light manufacturer, VOLT Grow supports our customers and these organizations advocating for legal marijuana use. This is why we are partnered as an official sponsor with NORML.

NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) is the largest and oldest marijuana legalization organization in the country. The nonprofit public-interest advocacy group was founded in 1970 with the initiative to lead the public policy debate on marijuana prohibition and help decimalize marijuana consumers. In its first years running, NORML was able to decrease marijuana penalties and even decriminalize minor offenses in 11 states.

VOLT Grow is proud to be partnered with such an accomplished organization that is leading the fight to complete marijuana legalization. Visit their website to learn more about their efforts and support their cause at www.norml.org.
