Can this be installed on a 3.5 x 3.5 post?
Yes...this fixture fits a standard 3.5" post without adaptations. However, in my application, my composite post dimension is larger, and I already had a post cap installed. I adapted by setting the fixture atop the decorative post cap and fastening in place with some stainless-steel wood screws. I have a photo but cannot attached to this message.

Can the bulbs in this light be replaced. If not, how long will the bulb last?
I installed two of these lights 4-5 years ago and have not had to replace the bulbs yet. I recall that they are suppose to be replaceable if needed.

My deck post is 4 1/4 inches. Is this light too small or is there any give to the base?
There is no give to the base, but it is slightly larger than 4 inches on a side and therefore should work. The light is made very well. Install hardware is good. It's not super bright like some of their other lights - I have several other types - but it is elegant lighting. Some other reviews don't like the way the power cord exits the base, but I found it good for my install.

Can this be installed to a rock wall post or is this only made to be compatible with a 4x4 post?
I think there is a treaded hub on the bottom side of the fixture u could use ridged nipple and attach to a floor flange

These are very nice lights, however be advised they do NOT fit a 4x4 post. There is a ½"" overhang in both directions. A 4x4 post is about 3.5""x3.5"", the bottom of this light is about 4.25""x4.25"" which will not look right and is not how the picture shows it as a post cap. Also, the wiring goes through the back rather than the bottom, which will not give it the proper hidden wire professional installation. I will be returning them. I would still recommend them for other installation methods, just not for 4x4 mounting.

Looks great but....
I bought 7 of these to use on my dock. Over the last two years the light is slowly changing from the 2700 degree light to a purple color. 5 of the 7 are now purple. I know there is a lifetime guarantee but it's a hassle now to disassemble the lights return the bulbs and put it all back together. Also, how long will the replacement bulbs last?

Why would you engineer such a great looking light and then attach the lead wire on the SIDE of the mounting base? 1-asthetic value diminished 2-wire exposed to UV / weather

Solid light
This is the second purchase of this light. I put both on a 4x4 post 33"" above ground along a backyard path. Very solid fixture, I'm very pleased with how they look in my yard.

Wish it was brighter
I really like the light. I have them on my back fence posts, I only wish there was a higher lumen output on the led to make it brighter

I would buy more in the future.
These post lights are excellent. You won't have to worry about them melting in the heat. I like the construction quality.

Volt has become a happy addiction. I started with a Volt 1200 watt transformer to run "firefly"lights. I then added path lights, then step lights, then the post light. I have plans for more. I mounted the post light on a 4x4 post that I added a sleeve to that concealed the wires nicely. The instructions explain that you can pull the wire out from the side for a bottom exit. I love the look, quality, and fast shipping.
