While this timer can be used with the VTR-150SL-SS-R1, it cannot be used with a photocell.

How to reset time on mechanical timer
Rotate the gray wheel clockwise to set the time of day. Depress the outer tabs accordingly for the period you want the lights on.

Awesome Product but really Bad shipping price
The item itself I give a 5* as this is way better than the photolight sensor so you can actually set your own time. I have my box set on a shady area so the light would go on fairly early. This timer eliminates that. No issues. The -1 * is for the cost of shipping. Volt, for the price of the item, and the commitment you put with their product should at least send it to you with free shipping. The shipping itself cost a little over half of the timer. CRAZY!

I would buy this product again
I can adjust the time in 1/2 hour increments and my lighting can start after sunset. I prefer this type of timer because it allows for more control. I am happy with the the Volt product line and have used it in my previous home as well.

REPLACEMENT FOR THE PHOTOCELL
I regret having to agree with the negative reviews on the standard, included photocell timer that comes with the light package. The photocell is terrible quality. Did not last 9 months. Replacing it with this timer. Sad I had to purchase it. THE PHOTOCELL IS INFERIOR, HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!

Good buy, wrks great,mechanical timer for slimline transform
My photocell timer combo was not consistently turning on dawn dusk and had to reset it esp. with cold and snow in chgo area so purchased mechanical timer as backup. Very easy install and wrking perfectly so far. Consistent, reminds me of my old malibu timers. Will use the photocell timer combo when weather warmer and see if wrking consistently otherwise will just use the mechanical timer.

Mechanical timers failed twice.
As much as I admire the quality of VOLT products, this one (Mechanical Timer) has not served me well. First one failed after less than a year. Volt did promptly replace it. The second one also failed a few months later. I did go through the "recovery" process VOLT recommended - but, they did not work. I think I would definitely recommend the digital option or the newer photocell product.

Works great!
Love the mechanical timer. Works great! We had ordered a kit that included a timer that had a sensor so you kept it outside. We wanted our transformer indoors so had to change it out. Ordered just the actual timer part, recommended by the help line. I just pulled out the 3 pronged sensor timer it came with and replaced it with the 3 prong mechanical one. Super easy!!!!
