Does the 5-minute countdown start when the light turns on, or when the motion sensor detects that an object has stopped moving?
As long as there is motion, the light stays on. Only after motion ceases does the countdown start.

I have a pretty long walkway and need the lights to turn on if someone is detected at either end. Can you have 2 of these motion sensors, one on each end?
The walkway lights can certainly be wired to trigger on either end of the walkway. I would not recommend the Volt brand sensors though. The Volt sensor I bought never did work. Good luck with your project!

I installed one of these. The transformer has a photoswitch. But the light attached to this motion sensor stays on all the time. I tried Switch 1 in both on and off positions. Am I missing something?
Makes no sense, unless the transformer has a trickle current using the photo switch . That being said, my lights seem to be on 90% of the time downstream from this motion sensor. I set the sensing distance to 15 feet, but it made no difference. The sensor seems to be SUPER SENSITIVE to any motion, and rarely turns the lights off.

My lights are on a timer that shuts off at midnight - will this work to trigger the lights on after the timer shuts them off?
No. The timer would still be the first to control the ON/OFF times. So if set to OFF, Motion sensor will never turn on.

The description indicates that all downline lights will be activated by the sensor. If the sensor is at the entry to my 200' driveway will it switch on and off the entire lighting run or just the one light at the end.

Perfect Solution
This detector works in line with my low voltage landscape lights. My transformer is set on dusk till dawn, but the detector only allows them to come on if it detects motion and then turns them back off. It's the perfect solution if you don't need your lights on all night long. It turns them on only when needed.
