Questions & Answers (Q&A)
Do I need to use a transformer bought from Volt in order to have the remote control work?
You will need a transformer, but it doesn't have to be purchased from Volt. For convenience, the ordering system usually suggests a transformer, once lights are added to your cart.

It will point straight up and it is heavy for its size

Can the lights be left in a frozen pond over winter
It shouldn't be a problem considering the lights are LED. It just depends how Good and water tight the seals on the product are

Do these lights have to be submerged in the water? I have a pondless fountain that I am wanting to light, and they would not be in the rocks with constant water falling on them.
Nope. I have mine half submerged but they don’t seem to care. I don’t always run our fountain and does just fine.

I have no intension of changing colors. Will the lights be white without the remote? Is there an expected life for the lights?
White is the default “color”.
I have gone through 2 sets in the past 4 years in my fish pond…they work well but from my experience they have a limited life expectancy.

Not durable
I have many Volt lights and they are a great product. This particular model is a disappointment though. I've had two sets in the last five months and both have had a light stop functioning. It lights up but some of the leds go bad and so it can't create the correct color. Fortunately, Volt stands behind them and sends replacements but I do have to go through the hassle of removing the fountain access port and rewiring.
When the lights are working correctly, they are beautiful. Hopefully Volt will correct the durability problem in one of the future versions they'll be sending me.

Disappointing
The light appeared to be just what I wanted but once installed in my fountain, the remote will not turn it off or on…I have to go outside and unplug it! They did replace the remote but, as I suspected, it wasn’t a problem with the remote. It would be no easy task to try and replace the light as wiring was fished through a conduit underground! My only recourse is to connect it to a timer! Very unfortunate.

Could be better.
They are extremely affordable but the integrated minis do not last very long. Volt has honored the lifetime warrenty so far. I've ordered 2 different sets of these and they seem to start to go out after 3-4 months.

Light Output
Purchased two VUL-6704-25-BBZ-R1 mini brass RGBW LED underwater lights. Already are using many of the older single color white mini brass VUL-6802-25-BBZ lights. The new multi color are not as bright / not as many lumens as the old lights. Are they not supposed to have the same 80 Lumen rating?

Disappointing
I bought the prior version of the these lights a year ago. One bulb has gone out or become discolored in each set of 3. They are installed in a fountain so it is difficult to rewire. I am disappointed as I have been quite happy with all their other products I have used.

Color changing underwater lights.
Only installed them a month ago, but so far they work great. Far more bright than expected with the smaller size fixtures.

Waterfall lights
Another great quality product used these as a replacment for some worn out fixtures in a clients backyard waterfall
These have a small footprint and an impressive weighted base
Also impressed with there output
Like all the other reviews when the fixture is under water changing the color is a slight pain but when dialed in how many times are you gong to be changing the color

Nice lights but they don't last
Puts out a nice light but after our contractor installed three separate strings of three lights each -- two of the strings went bad after less than two years --which is longer than many other reviewers, but much too soon for lights that we were told have a lifetime warranty. I sure hope VOLT get this figured out!
